The Broadway singer (currently with Hamilton) is in town this month headlining the Philly Pops Christmas Spectacular (through Dec. 22). She’ll drop by the Museum of the American Revolution to lead two songs — “Let It Snow” and the emotional “Remember Me” from Coco — to kick off a half-hour family sing-along that will also feature the Pops’ “Singing Santa” Chuck Gill and a trio of Pops musicians.

Bob Dylan & His Band open the new venue Monday evening. John Legend takes the stage for his Christmas special the next night. Early names on the Met lineup include violinist Lindsey Stirling (Dec. 18), the WDAS Holiday Jam with Charlie Wilson (Dec. 22), and John Oliver (Dec. 30 and New Year’s Eve).

Atlas Obscura Society Philadelphia hosts a workshop where you can learn about geomancy, a form of divination considered a “sister” to astrology. You may be surprised to learn the math on which the soothsaying is based played a part in the development of calculus, binary code, and eventually the computer chip. A geomancy practitioner leads the proceedings.

Inquirer staff photographer David Maialetti launches his new book, which revisits the Italian village that Paul Strand photographed in 1953.
