3 dead, 7 injured — including a toddler — in 8 Philly shootings

The shootings took place from late Saturday night into Sunday evening. No arrests were made.

An 18-month-old boy was among 10 people shot, three fatally, in a streak of gun violence in Philadelphia that began late Saturday night and continued into Sunday evening.

In the most recent of the shootings, a 19-year-old man was shot Sunday night once in the stomach and back and twice in the left leg at 2800 Cantrell Street in South Philadelphia. Police recovered the gun in a Subaru, but have not made an arrest. The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital’s Episcopal campus in critical condition.

At 8:45 p.m., two men were shot on the 200 block of East Indiana Avenue in Kensington, police said. A 31-year-old man was shot once in the left thigh and taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition. A 25-year-old man was shot once in the left hand and taken to Temple’s Episcopal campus in stable condition.

Just before 5 p.m. Sunday, a toddler suffered a graze wound to the head in the 100 block of East Pastorius Street in East Germantown, police said. The child and a 26-year-old man who also was shot, in the right shoulder, were taken to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in stable condition, police said.

Earlier, around 3:30 p.m., a 55-year-old man was shot once in the chest at 28th and York Streets in North Philadelphia’s Strawberry Mansion neighborhood. He was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Just after 1 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot multiple times throughout his body on the 2400 block of North 54th Street in the Overbrook section, police said. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

A gun — not believed to be involved in the shooting — was found on him, police said.

Just before 3 a.m., a 33-year-old man was shot once in the lower back on the 400 block of West Roosevelt Boulevard in the Feltonville section of North Philadelphia. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in stable condition, police said.

At 1:24 a.m., a 31-year-old man was shot three times in the head on the 4700 block of North Fifth Street in the Hunting Park section. Police said he was pronounced dead about 10 minutes later at Temple University Hospital.

And at 11:25 p.m. Saturday, a 24-year-old man was shot twice in the head, once in the chest and once in the back at Amber and Rush Streets in Kensington. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Temple University Hospital, police said.

No arrests were reported in any of the shootings. Police did not provide identities of the victims.
