TV picks: ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘All in the Family’ live, James Holzhauer back on ‘Jeopardy!’

American Idol. There’s more than one big finale this weekend, this one airing live coast to coast, and with a definite winner — chosen by viewers — who won’t be expecting to sit on an uncomfortable throne at the end. No dragons, but much singing. 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, ABC.

Game of Thrones. After eight seasons of battles, executions, political intrigue, and one unforgettable wedding, the TV version of George R.R. Martin’s still-unfinished fantasy saga comes to an end in an 80-minute finale. 9 p.m. Sunday, May 19, HBO.

Jeopardy! James Holzhauer is back. 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, 6ABC.

Beat Shazam. Temple professor Aaron Smith and his brother Martin try to become the latest team to win $1 million in the teachers-themed season premiere of the Jamie Foxx-hosted game show in which contestants try to be the first to identify popular songs and ultimately to beat the song-identification app Shazam. 8 p.m. Monday, May 20, Fox.

Blood & Treasure. Summer drama’s globe-trotting two-hour premiere kicks off with the discovery of the tomb of Antony and Cleopatra, and gets crazy from there. Think antiquities, terrorism, and travel, but try not to think too hard. 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, CBS.

Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s All in the Family and The Jeffersons. Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear host a star-studded live event as Woody Harrelson settles into the late Carroll O’Connor’s chair as Archie Bunker and Jamie Foxx steps into Sherman Hemsley’s role as George Jefferson for one performance each of two classic sitcoms. Other stars include Marisa Tomei as Edith Bunker, Wanda Sykes as Louise Jefferson, and Kerry Washington and Will Ferrell as Helen and Tom Willis. 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, ABC.

Elementary. The seventh (and final) season premiere finds Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Dr. Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) in London, working as consultants for Scotland Yard. 10 p.m. Thursday, May 23, CBS.

Live From Lincoln Center: Megan Hilty. If you saw Hilty in Smash or have been lucky enough to catch her on Broadway, you know you’re in for a treat. And you can’t beat the price. 9 p.m. Friday, May 24, WHYY12.
