Thursday’s South Jersey Roundup: Rancocas Valley earns walk-off win in Burlington County League baseball matchup

Rancocas Valley’s Nick Seibel hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning of the Red Devils’ 3-2 win over Moorestown in the Burlington County League’s Liberty Division. Winning pitcher Luis Flores improved to 4-0 and didn’t allow an earned run in his complete game. Elijah Dickerson hit a homer for Rancocas Valley.

Josh Baar struck out 12 in a five-inning no-hitter as Burlington City beat Medford Tech, 10-0, in the Burlington County League’s Independence Division. Baar and Steven Shaffer each had two RBIs for the Blue Devils.

Kyle Kato allowed just one hit over seven innings as Bordentown beat Cinnaminson, 11-0. Kato and five other Scotties hit doubles. Dylan Wood had a double and four RBIs, Luke Mabin had a triple and three RBIs and Jack Parker had a double and two RBIs.

Maple Shade beat Florence, 6-0, in a Freedom Division matchup. Kenny Booth hit a double, and Derek Andrada hit a home run for the Wildcats.

Edrei Jones went 3-for-4 with a double in Pemberton’s 8-4 win over Riverside. Winning pitcher Tyler Gendron struck out seven and allowed just two hits over seven innings. He also had two RBIs.

West Deptford scored 10 runs in the first two innings of its 11-1 win over Haddon Heights in a Colonial Conference Liberty Division matchup. RJ Mason, Ian Murphy and Brian Gallagher each had two RBIs.

Triton scored nine runs in the top of the first inning as it beat Highland, 11-7, in the Tri-County Conference. Winning pitcher Mike Shannon struck out five over five innings and went 3-for-5. Losing pitcher Dylan Maria hit two homers.

Nick Massaro struck out 10 in a five-inning no-hitter as Gloucester beat Salem, 10-0. Sal Carracino had a double and two RBIs. Keith Foley also had two RBIs.

Caleb Ritchie hit a three-run homer in the first inning as Kingsway beat Shawnee, 5-4. Joey Moore hit a double for Shawnee.

Seneca’s Matt Christopher allowed just four hits in his complete-game win as the Golden Eagles beat Clearview, 1-0. Losing pitcher Julian Costa struck out nine in six innings. Malin Jasinski went 2-for-3 for Seneca.

Holy Cross lost, 7-3, to St. Joseph’s Prep. Jimmy King hit two doubles for St. Joseph’s Prep and had two RBIs.

St. Joseph beat Pleasantville, 11-2, in the Cape-Atlantic League to win its sixth consecutive game. Bobby Hyndman had his 100th career hit.

Softball

Overbrook scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to beat Sterling, 4-3, in the Colonial Conference’s Liberty Division. Winning pitcher Amaia Smith allowed two hits and just one walk in her complete game. Mallory Skelly struck out 12 over six innings for Sterling.

Rancocas Valley beat Bordentown, 6-0. Kaila Mungo had a triple and three RBIs. Gianna Guerriero also had a triple.

Maple Shade beat Florence, 9-1, in the Burlington County League’s Freedom Division. Samantha Pietrow had a double, a home run and four RBIs. Winning pitcher Miranda Horwath also had an RBI. Taylor Martin had two RBIs for Maple Shade.

Jenna Goodman and Brooke Hampton pitched a combined no-hitter in Westampton Tech’s 12-0 win over Pemberton in the Patriot Division. Hampton struck out seven in three innings and hit a double. Angelita Martinez had four RBIs for the Panthers. Sanna Meredith, Amber Perry and Aeryn Gilmore each had two RBIs.

Lenape scored two runs in the bottom of the 10th inning to beat Audubon, 5-3. Audubon scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the lead before Lenape tied the game in the bottom half. Emma Brennan went 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs. Kaya Flynn had two RBIs for Audubon.

Doane Academy scored seven runs in the third inning of its 11-1 win over Burlington City. The Spartans won their fifth straight game. Carolyn Oluwaseun-Apo had three hits and three RBIs. Winning pitcher Cierra Yackel had a double and an RBI. Madison Rios had a homer.

Washington Township beat Clearview, 6-1. Carly Quint had a double and three RBIs for the Minutemaids. Jenna Patterson had a double and an RBI for Clearview.

Gloucester Catholic winning pitcher Cambrie Todd had a double and four RBIs as the Rams beat Cumberland, 10-0, in a Tri-County Conference matchup. Lucea Hutchinson had two RBIs for Gloucester Catholic.

Camden Catholic beat Bishop Eustace, 14-4, in an Olympic Conference matchup. Caroline Amorelli had a triple and an RBI, and Jillian Orcutt had a triple and two RBIs. Gianna Marciano, Eva Meldrum, Bri Denner and Nicole Douglas each had two RBIs.

Girls’ Lacrosse

Haddonfield beat Middle Township, 20-10, in a Cape-Atlantic League matchup. Ashley Campo scored eight goals to lead the Bulldawgs. Caroline Beckett scored six goals, and Gabi Connor had a hat trick.

Rancocas Valley scored nine first-half goals as it beat West Deptford, 13-8. Ashley Orendac had four goals and two assists. Mekelsey Montgomery and Sydney Sventy also each had two assists. Alexa Coggan and Reese DeMarco each had hat tricks.

Boys’ Lacrosse

Michael Trimble and Bryce Monahan each scored four goals as Williamstown beat Highland, 19-1, in the Tri-County Conference. Christian Farrell had a hat trick for the Braves.

Boys’ Volleyball

Williamstown beat GCIT, 2-0, in the Olympic Conference. Aiden Boorstein had 24 assists. Dom Johnson and John Paccione each had seven kills.

Pleasantville won its fourth match of the season by beating Pennsauken Tech, 2-1. Ed Crumpton had nine kills, and Michael Pena had seven. Abdiel Gonzalez-Alvarez had 18 digs for the Greyhounds.

Boys’ Tennis

Schalick beat Triton, 4-1, in the Tri-County Conference. Lars Jespersen beat Tyler Cahill, 6-0, 6-0, in the first singles match. Rockland Caselli defeated Kevin Abrams, 6-0, 6-0, in the second singles spot.

Winslow Township beat Oakcrest, 3-2. Matt Nguyen and Amir Greene’s win over Hari Acharya and Justin Haye in the first doubles match clinched the win for the Eagles. Nguyen and Greene won a third-set tiebreak 10-8 to win the match.

Shawnee beat Northern Burlington, 5-0. Aditya Deshmukh beat Vincent Paulsson, 6-2, 6-0, in the first singles spot. Andrew Tecce and Anshul Shetty beat Ryan Gallagher and Joe Campbell, 6-2, 6-0, in the first doubles spot.
