Monday’s South Jersey roundup: Sam Tropiano ties South Jersey baseball all-time wins record as Bishop Eustace beats Cherry Hill East

Johnny Piacentino recorded his 100th career hit on an RBI single to center to lead Bishop Eustace to an 11-1 win over Cherry Hill East on Monday. Piacentino went 3-4 as the Crusaders scored nine runs in the third, highlighted by Mike Guzzardo’s grand slam. The win was head coach Sam Tropiano’s 672nd of his career, tying former Delran coach Rich Bender for the top spot on South Jersey’s all-time list.

Shane Adamski hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th to lift Deptford past Cumberland, 4-3. Adamski had a big assist in the top half of the inning to keep the score tied. Chase Banks was 4-for-5 with four singles for the Spartans.

Chris Wade’s three hits, including a grand slam, highlighted Bordentown’s 12-2 win over Pemberton. Dylan Wood knocked in two runs on three hits, while Connor Wood picked up his first career varsity hit and RBI. Tommy Niedermaier picked up the win after pitching five innings of scoreless ball.

Shawnee defeated Lenape, 4-3, in eight innings off of a bases-loaded walk. Joe Dalsey’s one-out single put runners on the corners before the bases filled, helping the Renegades improve to 7-0 on the season.

Stephen Restuccio had a home run and drove in three runs during Hammonton’s 18-8 win against Delsea. Six other players had two RBIs each.

Ryan Dipper threw a complete-game shutout and struck out seven to bring Gateway past Sterling, 6-0. Jackson Kelly was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs for the Gators.

Softball

Brianna Stocklin’s 3-for-3 outing led Deptford past Cumberland, 11-2. Stocklin had a double, two triples, four runs and two RBIs, as teammate Mackenzie Danenhower was 3-for-4 with three singles and a run. Lindsey Acker pitched a complete game for the Spartans, striking out 13. Jenna Gardner collected three hits and brought in the Colts’ only two runs.

Amaia Smith struck out five on the mound and went 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run and a triple, totaling five RBIs to power Overbrook past Haddonfield, 13-1, in five innings.

Hannah Alexander drove in all three Northern Burlington runs in its 3-2 eighth inning walk-off win over Middletown North. Alexander notched a double and a triple for the Greyhounds, as both teams were tied from the sixth inning on.

Kamryn Kenedy, Emma Cavallaro, Kanai Dismus and Sydney Arrigale all went deep in Highland’s 10-5 win over Triton. Arrigale went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs while Nerina Tramp pitched a complete game and struck out 14. The Tartans got out to a 7-0 lead after the first inning.

Hammonton’s late-game push led to a 6-4 win at Delsea. The Blue Devils scored three runs in the sixth and added one more in the seventh, as Allie Bishop went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Bordentown shutout Shawnee, 7-0. Makenza Goleniecki’s two-run home run in the top of the third gave the Scotties a 4-0 lead. Hailey Cope and Annabella Pisapia capped off the scoring with a solo shot and a two-run double in the sixth and seventh.

McKenzie Yurcaba pitched a complete game, striking out 15 while going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in Audubon’s 8-0 shutout of Collingswood.

Boys’ Lacrosse

Camden Catholic used a third quarter surge to beat Timber Creek, 10-7. The teams were tied at five before the Irish outscored the Chargers 4-1 in the third. Zach Toles netted five goals for Camden Catholic. Patrick Miller added three of his own in the win.

Aidan Lash scored a game-high five goals as Rancocas Valley beat New Egypt, 13-8. The Red Devils outscored the Warriors 9-3 in the second half, as Alex Everard and Joe Heim combined for five goals and five assists for Rancocas Valley. Bobby Farrand recorded a hat trick for New Egypt.

Sean Kennedy and Bryce Reece both had hat tricks, leading Lenape to beat Haddonfield, 11-2.

Bishop Eustace beat Williamstown, 11-7.

Girls’ Lacrosse

Bishop Eustace cruised to a 17-1 win over Paul VI after leading 10-0 at halftime. Julia Gatelein and Veronika O’Donnell had four goals each for the Crusaders. Kaitlyn Klitchko tallied a hat trick, while Madison Matt and Abby Romani both scored two apiece.

Gianna Monaco’s six goals powered Lenape past Egg Harbor Township, 16-3. It’s the second time that Monaco has recorded six goals this season, with her first coming against Cinnaminson on March 27.

West Deptford assisted on 15 of its 19 goals in a 19-4 win over Gateway. Anna Wright and Kara Yarusso had two goals and three assists each for the Eagles. Antonia Gismondi added a pair of goals and assists as well.

Mary Meduri’s six goals led Our Lady of Mercy past Atlantic City, 12-8. Anissa Serafine had four goals for the Villagers. Megan Dougherty’s four goals led all Vikings’s scorers.

Woodstown blanked Highland, 14-0. Ella Champingy recorded a hat trick while Emma DiPatri, Devon Kelty and Charlie Baldwin each had two goals apiece.

Paige Miller and Juliane Calalo combined for nine goals as Cherry Hill East routed Timber Creek, 15-4. The game saw five players record hat tricks including Miller and Calalo.
