Rachel Balzer scored 12 points and surpassed 1,000 for her career Friday as the Germantown Academy girls' basketball team topped Notre Dame, 63-55. Jaye Haynes led the Patriots with 21 points while Elle Stauffer followed with 14 points. The Irish’s Maggie Pina, who finished with a game-high 23 points, was nominated was named a McDonald’s All American nominee along with teammate Mandy McGurk, who had 12 points, earlier on Friday.

Krysten Brown led all scorers withg 17 points in Abington’s 37-33 triumph over Upper Dublin.

Mia Kolb scored a game-high 17 points as Jenkintown rolled past Collegium Charter, 58-29. Natalie Kolb and Carly Mulvaney added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Drakes, who improve to 19-0 on the season.

Ava Sciolla recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds in Pennsbury’s 54-31 win over Villa Joseph Marie. Kate Mix chipped in 12 points for the Falcons.

Sanaa Redmond delivered with 22 points as Shipley knocked off Germantown Friends, 56-32. Penn State recruit Anna Camden contributed 14 points for the Gators.

Emma Maley collected 16 points and five assists as Penn Charter defeated Springside Chestnut Hill, 58-39. Kelsey Bess and Kaitlyn Carter each had 12 points for the Quakers.

Madison Smith’s double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds led Friends' Central over Academy of New Church, 59-19. Raanee Smith added 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Phoenix.

Paige Mott scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as Abington Friends beat Westtown, 59-42. Mihjae Hayes chipped in 10 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for the Kangaroos.

Boys' Basketball

Jamil Manigo recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds as Bishop McDevitt routed Lansdale Catholic, 65-31.

Trevor Wall notched 16 points as St. Joseph’s Prep took down Devon Prep, 63-29. Chris Arizin added 14 points for the Hawks.

Steve Payne posted a game-high 25 points in Lower Merion’s 61-49 triumph over Haverford High. Columbia recruit Jack Forrest chipped in 17 points for the Aces while also securing his 1,000th point.

AJ Mitchell poured in a game-high 35 points as North Penn outlasted Central Bucks East in double overtime, 89-85. Tali McIver contributed 15 points, including two free throws with five seconds left to give the Knights a four-point lead with five seconds left.

La Salle recruit Christian Ray totaled 36 points and 11 rebounds as Haverford School downed Germantown Academy, 74-46, to remain undefeated at 19-0. Jameer Nelson and Jameel Brown added 14 points apiece for the Fords.

David Duda and Owen Kropp scored 18 points apiece in Mathacton’s 79-47 victory over Pottstown to improve to 12-2 in the Pioneer Athletic Conference.

Wrestling

Ryan Ponce and Enmanuel Santana each recorded a pin to lift Northeast over Central, 33-32, in the Publicl League final. Ponce and Santana orginally tied the match at 32, but the Vikings came away with an extra point since they had more technical falls.
