The Saturday night death of a six-month-old baby boy in a Southwest Philadelphia house does not appear to be suspicious, but it is being investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department, a spokesperson said Sunday.

Paramedics and police went to a home in the 1600 block of Wilton Street at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday for a call of an unresponsive infant, a department spokesperson said. The child was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he died at 9:51 p.m.

The Special Victims Unit is investigating the death, “however, at this time it does not appear to be suspicious,” the department said in a statement.
