Connecticut recruit Jalen Gaffney scored 19 points as the Westtown boys' basketball team defeated Friends' Central, 78-46, in the Friends School League semifinals. Jalen Warley and Frank Kepnang contributed 18 and 14 points, respectively, for the Moose, who will play Academy of the New Church in the final on Friday.

Matt Dade scored a game-high 24 points Tuesday as Episcopal Academy topped Germantown Academy, 61-51. Alex Capitano added 18 points for the Churchmen.

Ke’Shawn Williams paced Springside Chestnut Hill with 22 points in a 61-50 triumph over Penn Charter. Dave Robinson chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Blue Devils.

Raymond Brown scored a team-high 22 points as School of the Future outlasted Hill Freedman World Academy in overtime, 80-75, in the Public League Bracket A first round. Kygil Blount and Ali Brown had 17 points each for the Firebirds, who will play Sankofa Freedom on Thursday.

In other Public League Bracket A action, Steven Dao posted 20 points to lead Engineering and Science past Mastery South, 64-58. Raheem Boyer added 17 points for the Engineering, who will travel to top-seeded Imhotep on Thursday.

Lateef Snead led all scorers with 20 points as Palumbo knocked off Mastbaum, 56-47. Ibrahim Kane chipped in 17 points for the Griffins, who will take on Math, Civics and Sciences on Thursday.

Sekayi Robinson led a balanced Freire Charter attack with 14 points in a 75-39 decision over Science Leadership. Cori Cobbs contributed 12 points for the Dragons. who will play Olney on Thursday.

Aaron Harrison finished with 27 points in West Philadelphia’s 77-34 win over Fels in the Public League Bracket B first round. Brandon Chanstang had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to go along with Raekwon Bradwell’s 16 points. The Speedboys will travel to Mastery North on Thursday.

In other Public League Bracket B action, Jhalil Allen delivered with 23 points as Science Leadership Academy at Beeber defeated Maritime Academy, 74-34. Nair Pettigrew added 17 points for the Rockets, who will play Bartram on Thursday.

Penn recruit Lucas Monroe poured in 31 points as Abington clinched at least a share of the Suburban One American conference with an 81-54 victory over Hatboro-Horsham. Villanova recruit Eric Dixon had 17 points for the Ghosts.

Columbia recruit Jack Forrest put up 29 points as Lower Merion upended Conestoga, 61-50. Steve Payne added 11 points for the Aces.

Navy recruit Sean Yoder had 19 points as Pennridge took down Central Bucks East, 89-60. Jon Post and John Dominic each contributed 16 points for the Rams.

John Seidman scored 22 points in Haverford High’s 40-30 win over Ridley. Dan Roe added 11 points for the Fords.

Winston Chambers drained six threes for 22 points to lead Constitution over Paul Robeson, 85-46. Jabari Merritt and Keshaun Hammonds chipped in 18 and 16 points, respectively, for the Generals.

Girls' Basketball

Mihjae Hayes posted a game-high 12 points as Abington Friends knocked off Westtown, 55-41, in the Friends Schools League semifinals. Kendall Hodges and Paige Mott each had 11 points for the Kangaroos, who will meet Shipley on Friday.

Mikaela Reese registered 12 points in Souderton’s 32-27 victory over Gwynedd-Mercy. Megan Walbrandt added seven points for the Indians.

Maggie Pina scored 19 points as Notre Dame defeated Episcopal Academy, 44-20. Maeve McErlane had 11 points for the Irish.

Jess Sobieski was one of nine Upper Dublin scorers with 14 points in a 62-17 decision over Wissahickon.
