Making Metal: It's a family business.
A baby got in the way of California metalcore band Avenged Sevenfold's scheduled performance at Lincoln Financial Field on Friday night. The band cancelled its performance opening for Metallica so lead guitarist Synyster Gates - born Brian Haner Jr. - could be present when his wife Michelle gave birth to their son Nicolangelo Saint James Haner.
But never fear, Avenged fans. The band has announced that it will play a headlining show at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden on June 21 to make it up to the date. On their site, the quintet released this statement: "Attention Philly fans! We will be back on June 21 @ the BB&T Pavilion to honor anyone who missed us last night on the "World Wired Tour." Now you will get the FULL Stage experience as a token of our appreciation for your understanding as we all welcomed the newest healthy and happy member to the A7X family!!!"
Ticket details are scheduled to be announced today. Below, watch James Hetfield of Metallica celebrate the birth of "another metalhead" and dedicate "Sad But True" - an awkward choice - to Haner's infant son.
