Former Phillies outfielder Hunter Pence was activated from the 10-day disabled list by the San Francisco Giants before today's game at Citizens Bank Park. Infielder Christian Arroyo was optioned to Triple-A.
Pence missed 20 games with a left hamstring strain. He wasn't in the starting lineup but is available off the bench.
In three rehab games with Class A Advanced San Jose he went 3 for 10.
Pence is batting .243 with three home runs, 16 RBIs and a .627 OPS. He was hitting just .153 (9 for 59) with two home runs in his last 16 games before landing on the disabled list.
In 155 games over two seasons with the Phillies in 2011 and 2012, Pence hit .289 with 28 home runs, 94 RBIs and an .842 OPS. A three-time all-star, Pence has been on two Giants World Series championship teams in 2012 and 2014.
