"Best" and "Worst" awards: Sixers vs. Spurs

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – My look at some of the best and worst performances from the San Antonio Spurs 113-91 victory over the 76ers on Monday night at the AT&T Center:

Best performance: The Sixers continue to make marginal players look like all-stars.Spurs reserve guard Austin Daye, not far removed from a NBA Development League stint, finished with a season-high 22 points. He came into the contest averaging just 1.4 points. The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder made a career-high six three-pointers to go with six rebounds, two steals and a game-high two blocked shots in his domination of the Sixers.

Worst performance: I have to give this to the newest Sixer Casper Ware. The 5-10 point guard looked out of place hours after signing a 10-day contract. Perhaps nerves contributed to performance, as his first shot attempt was an air ball. He went on to miss all three of his shots, committed a turnover and had a rebound in 9 minutes, 58 seconds of action. This wasn't the type of performance that would warrant him staying past 10 days.

Best defensive performance: This award goes to Patty Mills. The reserve guard finished with a game-high three steals and a blocked shot. He also had 15 points and all three of his rebounds were defensive. Mills' defensive presence was part of the reason why Sixers rookie Michael Carter-Williams struggled through 5-for-20 shooting.

Best performance in a losing effort:  Henry Sims wins this award after producing a solid all-around game. The center had 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting.  He also had seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

Worst statistic: This award goes to the Sixers making just 8 of 18 foul shots (44.4 percent).

Best statistics: You have to give this to the Spurs' 31 assists on their 44 made baskets.

Worst of the Worst:  This goes to Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young combining to shoot 12-for-40. Young finished 7-for-20 from the field. The Sixers finished with 17 points apiece.
