Wood-fired grill restaurant coming to Collingswood

Chef/owner Dominic Piperno is a French Culinary Institute grad who most recently was sous chef at Vernick Food & Drink in Rittenhouse.

Details are few at this point, but new construction on the popular restaurant row in Collingswood is expected to yield an American wood-fired grill at 801 Haddon Ave. from chef Dominic Piperno, a French Culinary Institute grad who most recently was sous chef at Vernick Food & Drink in Rittenhouse.

Piperno, who also worked with chef Joey Baldino at the nearby Zeppoli, says the restaurant's name and design are still in the works. Rich Villa of Ambit Architecture has the job.

He and his wife, Lindsay, who has worked at Treno and the ChopHouse for six years, hope for a late spring 2017 opening.
