Blue Duck on Broad opens after a quack redecoration

Amazing what four days of work and some duck decoys can do.

What was Bop, the Korean-ish bar at 220 S. Broad St., is now a Center City location for Blue Duck, the Northeast Philadelphia destination.

Joe Callahan and chef Kris Serviss' four-day retooling has yielded Blue Duck on Broad, as they're branding this restaurant adjacent to the Bellevue's parking garage near Locust Street. Their original Blue Duck on Holme Avenue is BYOB, while this location has a large bar. Bop owners Scott Keenan and Eagles player Brent Celek are still involved.

The spacious interior, which was Bliss and (years ago) Noodle Heaven, retains its sidewalk seating beyond the fling-out doors, the TVs, and the subway-tiled walls, as well as balcony seating that provides a bit of seclusion.

Callahan and Serviss, meanwhile, are hoping for an early summer opening of a third restaurant at 212 S. 11th St., where Hummus Grill was. The bar-restaurant's name will be The Ugly Duckling.
