Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse – whose location at 15th and Chestnut Streets is one of the busiest restaurants in the state – will open a second restaurant about three blocks away.

Del Frisco's Grille – a notch more casual than the Double Eagle brand – is setting up adjacent to and within the 222-room Cambria Hotel & Suites on Broad Street, just north of Locust Street – in a former parking garage.

The company in its press release announced the location as "the corner," but it will not take the space formerly occupied by Perch Pub and Varalli. That assemblage of properties is still being marketed.

Del Frisco's says it will offer seating for 230 people in the main dining area, with a private dining room accommodating 35 people, as well as patio seating for 30 people fronting Broad Street. Opening is expected in 2018.

Larry Steinberg and Paige Jaffe of CBRE represented the landlord in the transaction.

While we're talking "out-of-town" and "posh," I can provide an update on the long-stalled P.J. Clarke's branch at the Curtis Center (Sixth and Walnut Streets), a restaurant project announced to great fanfare back in February 2016:

"As is common with any new construction in historic buildings, we have run into several speed bumps in the build-out of PJ Clarke's Philadelphia," a rep told me last week. "We have cleared most of those up and are charging full speed ahead. We are looking at an early 2018 opening."
