The Jim's Steaks shop at Roosevelt Mall, which city health inspectors shut down on July 26 after a series of violations and which also faced eviction proceedings, may be closed permanently after 20 years.

In a recent report on Fox29, co-owner Carl Proetto said he would not attempt to reopen the shop on Bustleton Avenue near Cottman, whose phone was disconnected. He and his brother, Marc, own the original Jim's in West Philadelphia and a branch in Springfield, Delaware County. The Jim's at Fourth and South Streets is owned separately.

The Proettos did not return numerous messages.

A sign on the door at Roosevelt Mall cites "plumbing issues."

Philadelphia court records also show that the Roosevelt Mall landlord sued in February seeking a writ of possession.
