Stats on 17th: Underground sports bar and nightclub in Rittenhouse
They're throwing everything at this: 20 HD televisions, two main bars, a full selection of spirits and cocktails, a lounge with bottle service, and a weekend dance floor.
Just in time for football season, Stats on 17th has opened beneath Davio's at 111 S. 17th St.
It's a sports bar and nightclub operated by Justin Veasey, 25, a South Philadelphian who started in the biz at age 16 and counts Chickie's & Pete's, Ventura's Greenhouse, and most recently Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse in his experience. He's backed by jeweler Danny Govberg, who was involved in G Lounge, a previous incarnation of the space.
They're throwing everything at this: 20 HD televisions (plus HD projectors for private parties), two main bars (five draft beers, signature cocktails on draft, 15 bottled-beer choices), a full selection of spirits and cocktails), a lounge with bottle service, dance floor (after 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, when the DJ spins), and a menu from chef Robert Faust including wings, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and flatbreads.
Decor includes sports memorabilia, including an autographed stick from the 1973-74 Flyers Stanley Cup team and a team-autographed Dave Schultz sweater from the 1974-75 Stanley Cup team. Govberg also had oversized luxury watch faces hung around the bar.
Hours are 4 p.m. to midnight Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (nightclub runs from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.), and 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday. Kitchen hours are 4 p.m. to midnight Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.
