Rikishi to be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame

Former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion Rikishi will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, the company announced via its web site Monday.

Rikishi's twin sons, Jimmy and Jey Uso, broke the news via Twitter Monday afternoon.

Rikishi, real name Solofa, Fatu Jr., stepped onto the national wrestling stage as a member of the Samoan Swat Team in the National Wrestling Alliance during the late 1980s.

He and his tag team partner Samu finally made their way up to the WWE in 1992 under the name The Headshrinkers.

After the team split in 1995, Fatu underwent a number of character changes before finally finding success as Rikishi, a fun-loving big man that loved to dance, especially when his running mates, Scotty 2 Hotty and Grand Master Sexay, placed the mythical sunglasses on his face.

Rikishi now joins "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 2015 class, which will be enshrined March 28 in San Jose, Calif. the night before WrestleMania 31. Rikishi was born in nearby San Francisco.
