Jeep Invasion

The beach will be crowded this weekend –– with swimmers, sunbathers, and more than 1,000 Jeeps. The Jeeps roll in Friday for their invasion, alongside live music, a beer garden, and the most appropriate snack vendors –– food trucks. On Saturday and Sunday, you can drive your own Jeep onto the beach and through an obstacle course on the sand.

5 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Saturday; 9 a.m.-noon Sunday. Beach between Lincoln and Spencer Avenues, Wildwood. Free. 609-522-4546. www.WildwoodMotorEvents.com.

British Invasion

These days, Robert Belma doesn't hear his real name very often. "I answer to George now," says the guitarist, who has the Harrison gig (and looks like him, too) in the Beatles tribute band Britain's Finest, out of Southern California. The four are to share a bill Saturday at the Golden Nugget with Rolling Stones cover band Glimmer Twins and The Who revival Who's Next. Belma calls them his "tribute brethren." What the guys have in common: "We all wanted to have our music heard," Belma says. "When I found out I would get paid –– instead of paying venues to play? I couldn't turn it down."

2-6 p.m. and 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Golden Nugget Casino, Huron Avenue and  Brigantine Boulevard, Atlantic City. Free. 844-468-4438. www.goldennugget.com/atlanticcity.

Silent Film: "Safety Last"

Every so often, Boardwalk Hall screens a silent film, mixed in among the concerts, sporting events, and pageants that it's better known for. This summer's offering: Safety Last, the classic slapstick romantic comedy of Harold Lloyd's misadventures in New York City. It's loaded with visual tricks – the "prison" in the opening shot, for one — and with moments that are shockingly trickless. The film's iconic scene of Lloyd's clinging to the minute hand of a clock tower was pulled off with only a stunt double and some clever feats of perspective.

7 p.m. Friday, Boardwalk Hall, 2301 Boardwalk, Atlantic City. $20. 800-736-1420. www.boardwalkhall.com.

The inside track at Monmouth

Peer inside the world of professional horse racing with race manager Robb Levinsky of Kenwood Racing, who has been hanging around tracks since he was 14. Participants can attend a training session with the horses and jockeys –– they'll see the barn, the morning exercises, and get a look at the backstretch, where horse managers and owners spend their downtime. In the afternoon, everyone will watch the races over lunch in a private box or at a dining terrace premier table.

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Monmouth Park Racetrack, 175 Oceanport Ave., Oceanport. $60, reservations required. 732-775-1930. monmouthpark.com.
