Wildwood Beer Fest

Unlimited samples of 100 beers from up and down the Mid-Atlantic — from Blue Point to Cape May, Lakewood to Tuckahoe — will draw drinkers to the park behind the Convention Center in two separate sessions. Attendees choose their time, get in line.
Noon-4 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Fox Park, E. Burk & E. Montgomery Avenues, Wildwood. $40-$45 ($5 designated driver), wildwoodbeerfest.com.

Ventnor PorchFest Music and Arts Festival

Ventnor City and Heights-wide block party perches dozens of live acts – from alt-folk to Zydeco — on stoops and front porches all over town for thousands of passing-by audience members. The idea: Celebrate Ventnor's excellent architectural bones, inspire property owners to spruce up exteriors, give artists new audiences, make Margate jelly.

1-8 p.m. Sunday, various locations. Free, amazingventnor.com.

AnimeNEXT Convention

Wilder than the wildest Snapchat filter, this gathering of hundreds of artists, dealers, and Technicolor-tressed fans brings Japanese comics off the screen and page and into A.C. Big draws: creators of Yuri on ICE, concerts by Capcom Live and Oblivion Dust, and cosplay pro-wrestling.

Through Sunday, Atlantic City Convention Center, 1 Convention Blvd., Atlantic City. From $40 per day, animenext.org.

The Race of Gentlemen

Sandpipers, beware. This vintage-feeling, Sailor Jerry-sponsored exhibition and race for pre-1934 cars and pre-1947 motorcycles is friendly, but it's also loud. Tickets are required to get up close. Touring helmets with goggles are recommended.

9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the beach between Schellenger and Spicer Avenues, Wildwood. $20-$35 single day; $55 weekend ($10-$15 children ages 7 and up), theraceofgentlemen.com.

Privateers & Pirates Festival

It's privateers vs. buccaneers at the family-friendly Tuckerton Seaport & Baymen's Museum, just inland of Beach Haven. There are putt-putt and sword fights, face painting, and craft making — even an amputation demonstration. Costumes are welcome, but also available for sale, eye patches and all.

11 a.m..-5 p.m. Saturday, 120 W. Main St., Tuckerton. $8 adults, $6 seniors, $5 children, tuckertonseaport.org.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue

The Tremé-born prodigy who jammed with Bo Diddley at age 4 lights up the Music Pier with his so-hot-it's-cool Nola sound, with guests the New Breed Brass Band. A smattering of seats remain, not that audience members will stay in them long.

8 p.m. Friday, Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk, Ocean City. $59, ticketmaster.com.

Arts & Crafts by the Sea

With Snooki and The Situation long gone, Seaside Heights, mid-Jersey's version of Wildwood, gets back to family-friendly basics with this beachside display of the work of 50 crafters.

11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Boardwalk between Dupont and Grant Avenues, Seaside Heights. Free, exit82.com.
