Larry R. Kaiser, senior executive vice president for health affairs at Temple University and president and CEO of Temple University Health System, has been formally invested as the inaugural dean of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. This chair - the first endowed named dean's chair at Temple - is part of the largest gift in university history, directed to the School of Medicine by Lewis Katz, the late businessman and philanthropist, Class of 1963.

Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation, Pomona, N.J., has promoted Olubola Sode to chief nursing officer and vice president for patient services, from nursing administrative supervisor.

Wistar Institute, a West Philadelphia nonprofit specializing in basic biomedical research with a focus on cancer and vaccines, has named Ashani Weeraratna, associate professor and program leader in the Tumor Microenvironment and Metastasis Program, as the Ira Brind associate professor. Weeraratna also is a member of Wistar's Melanoma Research Center. The endowed professorship - created by Ira Brind, former chair of Wistar's board of trustees and a board member since 1987 - is awarded to a scientist at the associate-professor level who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and great scientific promise.

Villanova University's Charles Widger School of Law has appointed Andrew Lund director of the John F. Scarpa Center for Law and Entrepreneurship and professor of law. He had been associate dean for research and faculty development and professor of law at Pace Law School.

Penn Community Bank, Doylestown, has hired Michael A. Meeneghan as president of Penn Community Insurance, its licensed subsidiary. He had been executive vice president and profit center manager of Brown & Brown of Connecticut Inc.

Lindsay M. Bondurant has been named director of the Pennsylvania Ear Institute of Salus University, Elkins Park. She had been assistant professor of audiology, a pediatric audiologist, and audiology clinical supervisor at East Tennessee State University.

Willis Towers Watson, has promoted Brad Messinger to Greater Philadelphia market leader from client-relationship director.

Metropolitan Ballet Company, a preprofessional nonprofit organization based in Jenkintown, has named Amber Permsap executive director. Permsap had been assistant manager, public relations, recruiting, and outreach, for the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center for seven years. She has served on the Metropolitan Ballet Company board of directors since 2010.

Morris Animal Refuge, founded in 1874, has appointed Lewis P. Checchia executive director and CEO. Checchia had been vice president of marketing at American Mint and vice president of business development at the Franklin Mint.

Sunil Sharma has been appointed chair of the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Einstein Healthcare Network. He had been with the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, where he was associate professor of medicine and director of pulmonary sleep medicine.

Susan Cooke has been hired as director of hospice for Marlton-based not-for-profit Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice. She had been elder-care collaborative program coordinator at Kennedy University Hospital in Turnersville.

Cooke & Bieler, Philadelphia, an independent asset-management firm focused on value investing within the U.S. equity market, has hired Patrick McDonnell to head its consultant-relations practice. McDonnell most recently served as senior vice president and equity marketing specialist at PIMCO in New York.

Saul Ewing LLP, Philadelphia, has hired James F. Modzelewski as special counsel in the energy, business, and finance, and private equity and venture-capital practices. He had been vice president and assistant general counsel for Penn Virginia Corp.

Pennsbury Manor, William Penn's manor home and a historic site, has hired Sarah DiSantis as managing director of the Pennsbury Society, its not-for-profit arm. Pennsbury Manor is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission in association with the Pennsbury Society. DiSantis had been as executive director of the Morgan Log House, Kulpsville.

Erin Halovanic has been named library director of the Horsham Library. Halovanic joined the library two years ago as reference and young adult librarian.

Yassmin Gramian has been named Northeast business-development director for the transportation and infrastructure sector in Philadelphia at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization. She had been a senior vice president at HNTB Corp.

Widener University president Julie E. Wollman has appointed Katie Herschede chief of staff in the office of the president. Herschede comes to Widener from Northern Kentucky University, where she had been executive assistant to the president and secretary to the board of regents.

Cabrini University, Radnor, has hired Brian Eury as chief of staff. He will continue his role as vice president for community development and external relations.

Murray Devine, Philadelphia, a national valuation advisory firm, has hired Robert A. Tribuiani as managing director, head of business development. He had been a senior business-development executive at SolomonEdwards.

Lorraine G. LoPresti has been hired as vice president, finance and administration, at the University City Science Center. She had been chief administrative officer and chief financial officer for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Alexandra S. Jacobs has joined Montgomery McCracken, Philadelphia, as an associate in the Cherry Hill office. She had been a federal law clerk for Judge Noel L. Hillman and a magistrate law clerk for Judge Joel Schneider of U.S. District Court.

The Philadelphia Department of Prisons has appointed Cecily Bradford-Jones as executive director of the Office of Reintegration Services.

South Jersey Industries, Folsom, which operates its business through primary subsidiaries South Jersey Gas and South Jersey Energy Solutions, has promoted Jason Foulds to vice president, from assistant vice president, and David Irussi to director, gas origination and business development.

Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox LLP, Bala Cynwyd, has named Stephen Daly an associate. He previously was a member of Potter Anderson & Corroon's corporate litigation group.

Threshold Group, a Philadelphia-based family-owned wealth-management firm, has hired Jacob Gray as managing director, impact investing. An experienced venture capital impact investor and business developer, he had been senior director of the Wharton Social Impact Initiative. Prior to his Wharton role, Gray was cofounder and partner of Murex, a pioneering early-stage impact venture-capital fund.

Ricky Rose has been appointed as CEO of Mountain Productions, Inc., a Wilkes-Barre staging and entertainment event production company. Rose is an owner of the company and previously served as a staging supervisor and as Director of International Development, where he established a European division based in Dublin, Ireland.
