Jesse Klein rented in New York City for nine years before he started shopping for a condo in Philadelphia.
"The plan was to live an outstanding bachelor life for years in it," he said.
He estimates he toured at least a hundred condos before finding his three-bedroom unit at The Lofts at Bella Vista in 2010.
"I knew I wanted to purchase something and was immediately drawn to the Lofts at Bella Vista, the condo, the views and what I saw was happening in the neighborhood," he said.
Despite his plans, the bachelor life did not last long.
"Of course, I met my wife not too long after, which—besides my daughter—is the best thing to have ever happened to me," he said. "This home put it all into motion."
Klein bought the home just after construction was completed, so renovations have been minimal.
"Since I was the first to live in it, I didn't have to do much," he said.
He added a wired speaker system downstairs, new carpeting upstairs and custom blinds throughout the 2,431-square-foot home.
The Kleins' home is part of the villas that are perched on top of the Lofts at Bella Vista.
"The building used to be a former printing factory, and when they redeveloped the property they added the villa residences," Klein said.
The villas are each two stories and include multiple outdoor spaces.
"For someone that wants space, views, and a vibrant neighborhood, this is a no-brainer."

Klein said he has enjoyed watching the Bella Vista neighborhood evolve.
"Coming from New York City, it was a transition to Philly, but one in which I fell in love with the city and the neighborhood," he said. "The neighborhood has expanded rapidly over the years, and I don't see any signs of it slowing down."
Klein said the family has decided to sell the condo as they prepare to move outside of the city.
"I am moving to the suburbs to be closer to work, and be in a place where my daughter can run around and play outside," Klein said. "If not for that, I don't think I would ever sell."
