Philadelphia's temple to the arts legged out the city's sports teams as the draw of choice for Uber riders this year.

The Museum of Art was the most requested Uber destination in 2017 in Philadelphia, according to a Top 10 list released by the company Tuesday. The company noted the list excludes airports, major transit stations, and hotels.

The Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and 76ers, while not individually the most popular attractions, dominated the list. The sports venues were all in the Top 10, as was XFINITY Live!, the entertainment complex adjacent to the stadiums.

Philadelphians also made outdoor drinking a popular stop in 2017. Three of the Top 10 destinations were watering holes where outdoor seating is a big part of the appeal.

The city's embrace of beer gardens doesn't mean its most venerable drinking spot is being abandoned, though. McGillin's Olde Ale House, which opened in 1860, was the 10th most popular destination.

While a list like this might lend itself to some meaty data analysis, that won't happen because the San Francisco-based tech company wouldn't release the raw numbers of rides to each destination. The spotty information is par for the course from Uber, which is in heavy competition with Lyft and considers any in-depth data about its operations to be proprietary. The company didn't provide any demographic information about the riders, where they were coming from, or the time of day or year they were traveling.

The company released similar lists for all 50 states. In Pennsylvania, the most popular overall destination was way on the other side of the state: PNC Park in Pittsburgh (although the Art Museum was a close second). Despite its troubles, Atlantic City remains an attraction in New Jersey, with the top three destinations in that state all A.C. casinos.
