James Taylor & Bonnie Raitt. Baby-boomer button-pushing double bill, with two storied acts who came into their own in the 1970s, one of which — slide-guitar-playing formidable front woman Raitt — continues to do some of her best work, most recently with 2016's appropriately titled Dig in Deep. Sunday at Wells Fargo Center.

Taylor McFerrin / Twilight Music Festival. The keyboardist, beatboxer, and son of vocalist father Bobby, who has collaborated with Thundercat and Robert Glasper Jr., kicks off the well-programmed series of Sunday summer evening Parks On Tap Jr. shows on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive along the banks of the Schuylkill. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and the Sun Ra Arkestra are coming up later this month. Sunday on MLK Jr. Drive near the Dragon Boat Dock.

The Defiant Ones. Four-part buddy-movie music doc about the partnership between hip-hop producer Dr. Dre and music exec Jimmy Iovine, who sold their Beats Electronics company to Apple in 2014 for $3 billion. Taking its name from the 1958 Sydney Poitier-Tony Curtis movie about convicts who bond across the racial divide, Allen Hughes' film treats its subjects like gods, but has a lively, star-studded story to tell about two hustlers from humble beginnings who rose up to shape the face of music, from Bruce Springsteen to N.W.A. to Eminem.  9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday on HBO.

Kehlani. Twenty-one-year-old Oakland R&B singer Kehlani Parrish, who established herself as an artist of substance this year with songs like "Piece of Mind," from the her promising SweetSexySavage debut. With Noodles, Jakai, and Ella Mai. Monday at Electric Factory.

Cactus Blossoms. The Minneapolis sibling duo of Jack Torrey and Page Burkum, whose harmony vocals sound recalls the Everly Brothers, got a nice career bump when David Lynch featured them singing the lonely heart lament "Mississippi" at the Bang Bang Bar in the recently completed season of HBO's Twin Peaks. Thursday at Johnny Brenda's.
