OGUE ONE: A Star Wars Story
has commandeered the box office for the fourth straight week, but the sci-fi space adventure barely beat out the true-life space adventure,
, according to studio estimates Sunday.
Rogue One brought in $21.97 million. Hidden Figures - which expanded by more than 2,000 theaters Friday after opening in limited release - surprised prognosticators with a robust $21.8 million.
The animated animal musical Sing was in third place this weekend, taking in another $19.5 million for a three-week haul of $213.3 million. Underworld: Blood Wars debuted in fourth place with $13.1 million, followed by La La Land with $10 million.
would have turned 70 Sunday, and his widow,
, celebrated via Instagram.
She shared a drawing of a young Bowie and captioned it "Jan 8th #ForeverLove #BowieForever." He died one year ago on Jan. 10.
People.com reported that in September, Iman attended New York Fashion Week wearing a necklace with the name "David" on it. "It's just been a tough year, but I'm holding up," she said, adding that she would wear the necklace "until my death."
Iman, whose mother Maryan Baadi died three months after Bowie, and the couple's daughter, Alexandria "Lexi" Zahra Jones, have remained largely out of the public eye since Bowie's death.
So even in this age of 24/7 news and Twitter and Instagram, it is possible.
* People.com also reported that Bowie's final recordings were released as a surprise on what would've been his 70th birthday.
The EP was called "No Plan," and a video for the title track also dropped. The EP contains "Lazarus" from last year's Blackstar album and songs from the Lazarus cast recording, recorded by Bowie.
The Associated Press reports that widely shared stories about celebrities experiencing car trouble and being helped out by local residents are false.
Several stories in recent weeks mention actors including Bill Murray, Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell having broken-down cars and getting aid from good Samaritans in small and medium-sized towns across the country. The nearly identical stories vary in only the name of the celebrity, the town and a local restaurant.
The stories appear on websites made up to look like local news outlets, including 16wmpo.com and newsdaily12.com. All the sites include a disclaimer that the articles on them are not real.
They recap a supposed interview with an unidentified radio outlet in which the actor praises residents for helping him in one of the towns. In each story, the residents help secure a tow truck and take him out for lunch.
On the other hand, any reported story in which Tattle gives a few bucks to a stranded motorist to help them pay for a tow truck, then is hit up again a few weeks later by the same scam artist with the same story, is absolutely true.
Millie Bobby Brown
, the first announced guest for Wizard World Philadelphia 2017, was on the Golden Globes red carpet last night and told E!'s
the actresses she most admires.
"Honestly, I think Lily Collins and Felicity Jones," the almost 13-year-old actress said. "I think they're very classy, they're elegant, they're British, and they really inspire me because they're incredible actresses."
As for her character, Eleven, Brown said, "She means so much to me. I've been playing her for a year now, and I love her diversity between how she can be so vulnerable and then really be incredibly fierce. It's incredible. I love it."
