Adaptation by Lydia R. Diamond (Stick Fly) of Morrison's classic novel started in previews at the Arden on Thursday and has a preview matinee Sunday. Opening night is March 7.

MONDAY

Philadelphia Flower Show

Inspired by rain forests and making a case for conservation, this year's show features waterfalls, lush tropical greenery, even a rope bridge. It opened Saturday. Come peep at the blooms on a weeknight to avoid crowds.

10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday (8 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday and next Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. next Sunday), Convention Center, 12th and Arch Streets, $32 for adults, $22 for students, $17 for children, 215-988-8800, theflowershow.com

TUESDAY

Ella Vos

An emerging presence in the pop world, Vos brings her dreamy sound to Philly this week. She decided to become a singer when she was pregnant with her now-2-year-old son, and wrote her biggest hit so far, "White Noise," about her struggles with postpartum depression.

8 p.m., the Foundry, 29 E. Allen St., $15 general admission, 215-309-0150, thefillmorephilly.com

WEDNESDAY

A Quiet Place

Leonard Bernstein's 1983 late-period opera revisits the characters from his 1951 Trouble in Tahiti. In between, all manner of domestic calamities have beset these troubled postwar suburbanites. Maybe Bernstein's uncompromising journey into America's dark heart will find a wider operatic audience? It's worth a try.

7:30 p.m. Wednesday with additional performances Friday and March 11, Curtis Opera Theatre, Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad St., $25 to $130, 215-893-1999, kimmelcenter.org

THURSDAY

Swan Lake

The Pennsylvania Ballet has been dancing Christopher Wheeldon's reimagined Swan Lake since 2004. But artistic director Angel Corella prefers a more traditional version. So this season he continues his re-creations of the full-length story ballets by reworking the classic Petipa choreography.

7:30 p.m. Thursday with additional performances through March 18, Academy of Music, 240 S. Broad St., $35 to $159, 215-893-1999, paballet.org

FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Tiffany Haddish

Last year, Girls Trip star Tiffany Haddish regaled Jimmy Kimmel Live! audiences with the tale of the time she got stoned and drove Will and Jada Pinkett Smith to a Groupon-discounted tour of a New Orleans swamp. Her Atlantic City show probably won't get that wild, but a meet-and-greet with Haddish will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates of Atlantic and Cape May Counties.

9 and 11:30 p.m. Friday, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, 1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City, $89, 609-317-1000, theborgata.com

The Peking Acrobats

In an Olympic year without gymnastics, this vibrant, proud Chinese troupe brings the jumps, stunts, and absurd backbends in a performance that's more authentic than Cirque and as family-friendly as can be.

7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday, Annenberg Center, 3680 Walnut St., $30 to $57, 215-898-3900, annenbergcenter.org
