From InterAct to Off-Broadway

One of 2017's most intriguing shows was the world premiere of Sean Christopher Lewis' Dogs of Rwanda at InterAct Theatre in June.
A writer named David, who as a missionary witnesses the 1994 massacres in Rwanda, writes a book about them, and returns in 2014 to clear the record. Dan Hodge, so good in so many plays around here, played David. (As for Lewis, you may remember him for his one-man show Killadelphia, commissioned by InterAct along with the Mural Arts Program.

Dogs of Rwanda was yet another winner to emerge from the National New Play Network's Rolling World Premieres Program. Now comes word that Hodge will reprise his role as David on March 9-31 at Urban Stages Theater on West 30th Street in New York. Urban Stages is a cool outfit that seeks to promote "new works by artists of diverse cultural backgrounds." Hurray for Dan Hodge and Dogs!
