The legend continues: Tina Fey's 'Mean Girls' debuts on Broadway
The legend of Tina Fey - Upper Darby's own - continues. Her musical "Mean Girls," based on her 2004 cult-classic movie, began previews Monday night, March 12, at the August Wilson Theatre on W. 52 Street. March tickets are all but gone, April is selling fast, and notices of the DC early run have been pretty great.

The legend of Tina Fey – Upper Darby's own – continues. Her musical Mean Girls, based on her 2004 cult-classic movie, began previews Monday night, March 12, at the August Wilson Theatre on W. 52 Street and is scheduled to run through Sept. 23. March tickets are all but gone, April is selling fast, and notices of the DC early run have been pretty great. Fey is part of a powerhouse team. Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon) is choreographer, and the songs (getting a lot of advanced praise) are by Jeff Richmond (30 Rock) and Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde). I might mention that heading the producer list is Lorne Michaels, who produced the original film.
It's amazing to consider the legs that 2004 movie has shown, hitting a chord if ever a chord were hit. It seems to be hitting it all over again on Broadway.
