Jillian Mele on her new Fox News job: 'I’m excited and I’m nervous'

Fox News viewers in Philadelphia this morning woke up to a familiar face talking about the news.

Jillian Mele, formerly one of four co-hosts on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia's Breakfast on Broad, started her new gig as the news anchor on Fox & Friends on Monday.

"I'm excited and I'm nervous," Mele said as she was introduced by co-host Ainsley Earhardt‏. "I'm basically everything you can imagine."

Mele didn't seem nervous when she jumped right into a rundown of the morning's news, which on Fox & Friends consisted of a missile launch in North Korea, an update on the court battle over President Trump's immigration order, and students in the Oval Office showing the president a model rocket emblazoned with the word "Trump" on the side.

Later in the show, Mele took a Fox & Friends crew with her to her hometown of Glenside where she visited her parents' home and hopped behind the cash register at O'Neill's Market, site of her first job when she was 16 years old.

Before joining Fox News, Mele spent two years co-hosting Breakfast on Broad, where she won an Emmy Award before the show was canceled in February. Prior to that, she spent seven years at NBC10, where she served at varying times as a news reporter, sports anchor, and traffic reporter.

"I spent the last 10 years on air in Philadelphia and I'm from the suburbs of Philadelphia, so this has been a big transition for me," Mele told her new Fox & Friends colleagues, warning them that despite now living in New York City, "I'm a Philadelphia sports fan."

Mele isn't the only former Breakfast on Broad veteran to take a new job in the New York City market. Her former co-host, Sarah Baicker, took a public relations job with the New Jersey Devils, where she manages the team's communications and content.

In fact, Mele ran into Baicker on the streets of New York just last week.
