Philly rapper Lil Uzi Vert releases new album, 'Luv Is Rage 2'

"I took this more seriously than anything in my whole life," Vert says of the album. "There's a difference between mixtapes and albums. I've done mixtapes. I worked a ton on this, though. I wasn't playing. I made it an album."

After months of teases, Philly rapper Lil Uzi Vert has released his new album, Luv Is Rage 2.

A sequel to his breakthrough 2015 mixtape, Luv Is Rage, Luv Is Rage 2 is Vert's first full-length studio album. The rapper, real name Symere Woods, 23, began promoting its release in December, and kept fans hyped with his Luv Is Rage 1.5 EP earlier this year.

That release brought fans several singles, including the hit "XO TOUR Llif3," a multiplatinum track inspired by Vert's failed relationship with ex-girlfriend Brittany Byrd, an artist and designer. The track's associated video has more than 270 million views on YouTube.

Now, with the online release of Luv Is Rage 2, fans have access to the entire 16-track album, which features appearances from performers such as the Weeknd, Pharrell, and Young Thug. Guest appearances aside, Vert says he approached making the album with more earnestness than his typical project.

"I took this more seriously than anything in my whole life," Vert says of the album in a press release. "There's a difference between mixtapes and albums. I've done mixtapes. I worked a ton on this, though. I wasn't playing. I made it an album."

Tour dates in support of Luv Is Rage 2 are expected to be announced soon. Listen to the album here:
