Meek Mill's 2012 album Dreams and Nightmares has become the unofficial pump-up soundtrack to the Eagles current run, with some players bumping the album just ahead of their NFC Championship victory on Sunday.

But as the Philly-born rapper recently said in a statement, the Birds' success has been equally motivating for him as he continues to serve a two to four-year prison sentence at Chester State Correctional Institution for probation violations.

"It really lifted my spirit to hear the team rally around my songs because that's why I make music," Mill, 30, said in a statement issued to media. "To inspire others and bring people together. The Eagles have also motivated me with the way they've overcome tough situations and injuries to succeed this year."

Mill was sentenced to two to four years in prison in the fall of 2017 for probation violations including a failed drug test and ignoring travel restrictions. At the time, Mill was on probation for a 2007 incident that resulted in gun, drug, and assault charges that landed the rapper in prison for five months.

Several Eagles players (and other celebrities) criticized Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley's sentencing of Mill, including Vinny Curry, Torrey Smith, Jalen Mills, Wendell Smallwood, and Malcolm Jenkins. Many attended a November rally in support of Mill, during which Jenkins encouraged attendees to not "sit back and watch our brothers and sisters get hauled off to prison."

Currently, however, Mill is predicting a Super Bowl win for the Birds this year. It is unclear whether he will be able to watch the big game from prison himself, but attorney Joe Tacopina told the Bleacher Report that he thinks the rapper will "be able to watch the Super Bowl, especially because the jail's in Philadelphia."

"I'm so proud of my eagles for making the Super Bowl and representing the city of Philadelphia," Mill said in his statement. "I'm confident my guys are going to beat the Patriots and bring the Super Bowl trophy to Philly."

The Eagles take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII on Sunday, Feb. 4. NBC will air the game. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
