Even the biggest Hollywood stars need some time off. And for Samuel L. Jackson last weekend, that meant a trip to the circus.

Jackson attended Cirque du Soleil's Varekai at Allentown's PPL Center on Friday. He was given a backstage VIP tour afterward during which he had his photo taken  with the performers.

Jackson was in Allentown shooting  the Spit/Unbreakable sequel Glass with director M. Night Shyamalan. The film started shooting early last month in Philadelphia,  also bringing stars Bruce Willis and Sarah Paulson to the area.

In the film, Jackson reprises his Unbreakable role  as gallery owner Elijah Price, also known as the evil Mr. Glass. According to a synopsis, Glass will follow  Willis'  Unbreakable character David Dunn as he pursues Kevin Wendell Crumb, the villain from Split, played by James McAvoy.  Mr. Glass "holds secrets critical to both men."

Over the weekend, however, Jackson appeared to have been focused mainly on the circus. Launched in 2002, Varekai retells the Greek myth of Icarus. It will be in Philadelphia Nov. 22 to 26 at the Liacouras Center.

Glass is scheduled for a Jan. 18, 2019, release.
