Souderton Area High School teacher Richard Curtis is returning to television, and he'll be on for nearly the entire summer when he joins Fox29's Good Day Philadelphia starting Monday.

Curtis, of Perkasie, appeared on Good Day Philadelphia Wednesday, where he helped keep a swimming session in order as an incognito lifeguard. Co-host Mike Jerrick, however, quickly recognized Curtis and forced him to reveal his true identity.

"Would you willing to be on the show for, like, nine straight weeks this summer?" Jerrick asked.

Curtis, who has been game for TV appearances following a run on Live With Kelly prior to Ryan Seacrest's arrival as co-host, responded simply that he would "need to get a baby sitter."

As Fox29 reported, Curtis will provide segments from around Philadelphia during his run on the show. He appeared as a Good Day co-host for a weeklong run last month.

Curtis last year entered the public eye after winning a contest to co-host Live With Kelly. The Bucks resident returned to the show for several more appearances after his initial gig, but host Kelly Ripa later chose Seacrest as her permanent co-host.

Now, however, the Live With Kelly fave is back on the air locally. And judging from his appearance on Fox29 today, he couldn't be more psyched.

"I think I'm here for nine weeks," Curtis said. "Let's do it."
