Disney releases emoji version of 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

As if Disney couldn't make the Guardians of the Galaxy fans even more excited about their favorite cosmic crew.

The Mouse House today released a Guardians of the Galaxy "As Told by Emoji" episode, part of a digital series that retells classic Disney - and Marvel - stories by using emojis.

The result is something so adorable it makes Baby Groot look like Freddy Krueger.

In this retelling, an emoji-fied Star-Lord sells the Infinity Stone on the Marvel Universe's version of Craigslist, Xardlist, and Baby Groot ends the episode with a dance party.

The episode is also peppered with pop culture references and different characters emulate classic emojis. When Groot and Rocket Raccoon kidnap Star-Lord for the price on his head, for example, they briefly switch into the money eyes emoji.

Best of all for the franchise's fans, virtually every plotline and character has been recreated in emoji form, even Benicio Del Toro's Collector and John C. Reilly's Rhomann Dey.
