Kristy Swanson added to Wizard World Philly lineup

Wizard World Philly 2017 is going to be staked by the original Buffy, The Vampire Slayer.

Kristy Swanson, best known for first portraying the iconic heroine on the big-screen before Sarah Michelle Gellar spurred the character to new heights of popularity on TV, will be appearing at this year's pop culture confab.

Swanson is also known for '80s hits like Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Pretty In Pink, a starring role in horror master Wes Craven's Deadly Friend and roles in The Phantom and Big Daddy.

Swanson joins an increasingly impressive guest list, which also includes comic writers and artists like  Phil Ortiz ("The Simpsons," "Muppet Babies"),  J.G. Jones ("Wanted," "Black Widow"), Arthur Adams ("Batman," "Superman") and Amy Chu ("Red Sonja," "Poison Ivy") among many others at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Wizard World Philly will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (11th and Arch streets), June 1 to June 4.
