Samuel L. Jackson wants a 'Nick Fury' film - wants to know why he's not in 'Black Panther'

LOS ANGELES - At the recent press event for Kong: Skull Island, I asked Samuel L. Jackson if he would be interested in a "Nick Fury" solo film.

"Sure!" exclaimed the actor. "I WANT to do everything. I'm always open. I'm always game. So yeah, I'd love to do a 'Nick Fury' movie!

"But they've got Infinity War, so they've got two movies to do there (in 2018 and 2019) and they have Brie (Larson)'s movie Captain Marvel - maybe I'll be a part of that."

Jackson, who had a cameo in 2008's Iron Man and has appeared in six other Marvel Studios films  - Iron Man 2, Marvel's The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger -  since, as well as playing Fury on a couple episodes of the ABC TV series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., is flabbergasted at the one 2018 Marvel Studios film he WON'T be a part of - the one starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker.

"I asked them, 'So you're doing Black Panther and the only black character in the Marvel Universe that's not showing up is me?" Jackson said.

"They said, 'Nick Fury's not in Wakanda,' Jackson laughs. "I'm like, 'How can he NOT know where these other heroes are? How the hell does that work?'"
