After about a year with the station, weather person Erika Martin has left NBC10.

Formerly the station's weekend weather person for 6 and 11 p.m. broadcasts, Martin announced her departure via social media last week, writing that she "learned so much" during her time there. Meteorologist Steven Sosna, who joined the station's First Alert Weather Team earlier this month, will take over weekend evenings, a spokesperson said.

Martiń also thanked fans for watching, and warned one local viewer to look out for Philly winters up through 2019:

Where Martin is heading for her next gig isn't exactly clear, but she told fans on Twitter that she has something lined up that she will be announcing "soon." Judging by her social media, that next location is somewhere down south with lots of palm trees:

However, Martin will first go north, where she says she plans to visit family and complete graduate school research project in New Hampshire:

Martin joined NBC10 in Sept. 2016 after holding freelance weather gigs at New York City stations WCBS and WPIX. A Hartford, Conn., native with a meteorology degree from Mississippi State University, Martin has also worked on the weather staff at stations in San Francisco, Springfield, Mass., and New Haven, Conn.

"Seeing how quickly severe weather can change your life is what inspires and motivates me," Martin said after joining NBC10 last year. "My goal is to get the most accurate and reliable information to our viewers as quickly as possible."

"Erika Martín worked at NBC10 while completing her graduate meteorology studies. She was mentored by our station news leaders and worked in a top notch weather department," NBC10 said via a statement. "Erika left our station as a more experienced meteorologist and we wish her the best in her future endeavors."
