Grammy Award-winning rapper and Philadelphia native Eve will join the cast of The Talk as a cohost.

Eve, full name Eve Jeffers Cooper, debuted on the show today alongside fellow cohosts Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, and Julie Chen. An hour-long daily program, The Talk features television personalities and celebrities discussing current events and pop culture. Eve previously served as a guest cohost on the program last month.

A Germantown native who attended Martin Luther King High School, Eve today is known for hits including "What Ya Want" and "Gangsta Lovin." To date, she has released four studio albums, and took home a Grammy Award in 2002 for "Let Me Blow Ya Mind," a track with Gwen Stefani that took home the award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration that year.

The rapper is no stranger to appearing on-screen. She's been in films such as the Barbershop series, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, and Whip It. Television-wise, fans may recognize her from roles in shows including Sisterhood of Hip Hop, Single Ladies, and Glee.

"Eve is an accomplished and dynamic performer, musician, wife and stepmother who fits in seamlessly, while also adding a new layer to the show as we continue to evolve season to season," Angelica McDaniel, CBS's executive vice president of daytime programs, says of the addition. "We are thrilled to welcome Eve to the table as she brings a fun and fresh perspective to our already diverse panel."

Eve is replacing Aisha Tyler, who left the show after six seasons on the panel. Tyler is now a series regular on CBS' Criminal Minds, in addition to her voice work on FX's Archer and host of the CW's Whose Line is it Anyway? She's told The Talk studio audience in June that she was leaving to pursue directing.

Eve has been out of the spotlight as of late. She married millionaire Maximillion Cooper in 2014, and hasn't released a new album since 2013's Lip Lock.
