After Tuesday's episode, one West Chester resident is moving on to Team Adam on NBC's The Voice.

Jackie Verna, 23, secured a spot on coach Adam Levine's team on Tuesday, performing a rendition of "Peter Pan" by Kelsea Ballerini. Levine was the only judge to turn his chair during her blind audition, putting Verna on Team Adam by default.

As Verna's introductory video explained, the Sicklerville, NJ native suffered severe injuries following a car accident as a teen that forced her to remain inside while she recuperated. During that time, she began playing music with a keyboard she received as a gift from her aunt.

Today, following college at Penn State, Verna is a pop and country artist who performs at local open mic nights. Her audition on The Voice was her "first big performance," according to a release.

Verna joins Jamai Springfield, 29, of Chester on the list of local contestants on this season of The Voice. Springfield joined Team Alicia last week with a performance of Usher's "U Got It Bad."

Verna reacted to her making Team Adam on social media, writing that she "couldn't have asked for a better song" to audition with.

Verna and Springfield aren't the only locals vying for fame and fortune on a singing competition. Langhorne's Catie Turner, West Philly's Dennis Lorenzo and Galloway's Mara Justine have all made it to the next round on the rebooted American Idol.
