2017 American Music Awards. Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross will host on the night her mother, Diana Ross, receives a lifetime achievement award on what ABC calls the world's largest fan-voted awards show. Speaking of fans, look for ABC to use the show as a platform for its reboot of American Idol by allowing viewers at home to weigh in on some audition videos and vote someone through to the Hollywood round. 8 p.m. Sunday, ABC.

Poldark on Masterpiece. Can this marriage be saved? I hope so. As we approach the third-season finale this weekend, Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) and his wife Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) seem, not for the first time, to be at a crossroads in their turbulent relationship. 9 p.m. Sunday, WHYY12.

Big Hero 6 the Series. The animated movie becomes a TV show, produced by  Bob Schooley, of Levittown, and Mark McCorkle, of Morrisville, the Temple grad team behind Kim Possible. 8 p.m. Monday, Disney Channel, Disney XD.

The Problem with Apu. "Thank you, come again." Comedian Hari Kondabolu takes on  the convenience-store owner voiced by Hank Azaria on The Simpsons in a documentary in which he professes both his lifelong love for the show and his dislike of Apu, "a white guy doing an impression of a white guy making fun of my father."  Among his interviewees are Kal Penn (Designated Survivor), Aziz Ansari (Master of None),  former Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy, and Kondabolu's parents. What does Azaria have to say? Tune in and see. 10 p.m. Sunday, TruTV.

David Letterman: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize. No, the former late-night host didn't shave his retirement beard for the Oct. 22 gala in which he became the 20th recipient of the prize named for the celebrated writer and humorist. We hear Bill Murray, last year's recipient, steals the show. 8 p.m. Monday, WHYY12.

Marvel's Runaways. The latest Marvel series premieres with three episodes (subsequent installments will be released weekly).  Adapted  by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl, The O.C.), it's set in one of those ultra-affluent communities those two seem to know so well, and involves teens who discover their parents share terrifying secrets. Superpowers may be involved. Maybe even stranger things. Tuesday, Hulu.

Barbra: The Music … The Mem'ries … The Magic! Do the Barbra Streisand fans in your family have Netflix? This concert special, released in time for holiday viewing, could make some streaming converts (or at least win the person in the room with a subscription an extra slice of pie on Thursday). Wednesday, Netflix.

Godless. Netflix knows you may be looking at a long weekend. Jeff Daniels and Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery star in a six-episode miniseries set in the American West during the 1880s. Wednesday, Netflix.

Thanksgiving with The Godfather. No wifi? This Godfather trilogy marathon could be the bingeing offer you can't refuse. 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursday, AMC.

She's Gotta Have It. Spike Lee's 1986 film about a freethinking young Brooklynite with three very different lovers becomes a 10-episode series, entirely directed by Lee and starring DeWanda Wise (Shots Fired) as the (still) freethinking artist Nola Darling. Thanksgiving Day, Netflix.
