Tom's Dim Sum opens Media restaurant

Soothing decor includes a long wall mural.

Tom's Dim Sum, the revival of the original Dim Sum Garden in Chinatown, has expanded to Media.

Last week, its first branch opened at 13 E. State St., replacing a thrift shop at 13 E. State St. (610-566-6688).

Soothing decor includes a long wall mural.

Shanghai-style menu, similar to that served at 59 N. 11th St. in the city, includes fried buns, scallion pancakes, and the signature soup dumplings. (Your mission: Try the Shanghai-style xiaolongbao at Tom's, and then try the ones a block away at Margaret Kuo's.)

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Note: Dim Sum Garden, under different management, is open at 1020 Race St.
