Monday's Child: Bernard, 13, envisions career in engineering

Bernard is a friendly 13-year-old with a brilliant smile. He's a bit reserved when he meets someone new, but once he trusts you, he opens up and has a great sense of humor. Very energetic, he loves to play football and run track. He was delighted to make his school's track team.

Bernard is a friendly 13-year-old with a brilliant smile. He's a bit reserved when he meets someone new, but once he trusts you, he opens up and has a great sense of humor. Very energetic, he loves to play football and run track. He was delighted to make his school's track team.

One of Bernard's favorite pastimes is taking things apart and then putting them back together. He would love to learn how to build a car. He also enjoys riding his bike, watching movies, and spending time with his friends.

Looking forward to high school, he hopes to attend one that focuses on mechanics. He envisions a career as an engineer or a professional football player. Bernard prides himself on being neat and organized. "A person who looks at my room would know that I like to stay organized and clean," he says.

Bernard yearns to be adopted and to have a permanent home. He would thrive in a family that would give him much love and attention. It could be a one-parent or two-parent family. He would do best if he is the youngest or only child. Bernard is fond of pets and he would be thrilled if there are some in the home.

Bernard and other children are available for adoption. For information, contact Paige Roller at the National Adoption Center.
