Monday's Child: Franklin, 18, has a dry sense of humor

Franklin concedes he is shy with people he doesn't know very well. "But after I get to know them, I'm relaxed and can be myself," the 18-year-old says. "I'm kind, nice, and funny and have a dry sense of humor."

Franklin looks forward to shopping for clothes. "I like to look good. I prefer to be dressed up rather than dressed casually," he says. But if he must dress casually, he prefers attire relating to sports teams. "If I can get everything to match, that's the best thing. Who doesn't like to look good? For Christmas, I always ask for a lot of team clothes."

Franklin, enrolled in 12th grade, enjoys going to school. He earns good grades and has many friends. He says that all his teachers are nice and that one of them buys students presents when they do well.

Franklin has experienced many losses in his life and dreams of having a forever family. He would thrive in a family that would spend a lot of time with him and that would provide a structured environment. He should be the youngest or only child in the home. Franklin would love to have a dog.

Franklin and other children are available for adoption.
