Getting to the beach is never half the fun, especially if you're hauling towels and chairs and coolers and toys and myriad other things from solid ground across sand or rocky turf. No sweat – well, maybe a little – if you're rolling along with the spacious new Tommy Bahama SuperDuper Wonder Wheeler Beach Cart.
This sturdy hollow-steel-frame cart can handle most terrain, thanks to 10-inch-diameter by 4-inch-thick rear wheels and smaller steadying double wheels on both sides at the front. You can hook up four beach chairs (not included) to the front extension-bar, fill the enormous nylon mesh main compartment with more than you need, and stash a beach umbrella and other unwieldy items into built-in loops and slots. A deep back pocket is great for organizing reading material, and valuables close at hand.
The cart comes with a removable shoulder-strap-equipped 48-quart insulated zippered cooler that attaches to tabs between the handle and the back of the cart. The cart handle is cushioned with soft rubber, and extends to accommodate haulers of different heights (no, not the little guys). Pulling – never pushing – in deep loose sand can require some brawn.
The whole thing folds in a flash (like a baby stroller) to a car-friendly 32 inches long by 20 inches wide by 5 inches deep, but, at 12 pounds I've stashed earlier iterations of this cart in my checked luggage for beach-intensive vacations all over the world, and always appreciated the help – especially when traveling alone.
