Police probe Point Breeze home invasion

Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred Saturday morning in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia.

Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred Saturday morning in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia.

Police said the victim, a 52-year-old woman, was inside a bedroom of her home on the 1900 block of Latona Street shortly before 7 a.m., when she heard someone open the hall closet.

The woman got up to investigate and encountered two masked men in her hallway, police said.

One of the men allegedly pointed a black handgun at her, ordered her back inside her bedroom and made her put a pillow over her face.

Police said the second man went into the bedroom of the woman's brother and ransacked it. The man with the gun asked the woman for the location of money and drugs, according to investigators.

The woman was then taken downstairs as the men searched the living room, kitchen and basement, eventually leaving the house with a backpack, police said.

They are believed to have initially entered the home by climbing through a first-floor kitchen window.

The armed suspect is described as 5-foot-4-inch tall man with a medium build, last seen wearing an olive green jacket and olive green camouflage pants. The second suspect stands between 5 feet 5 and 5 feet 6 inches tall and was wearing all-black clothing, police said.

No injuries were reported, and no arrests had yet been made Saturday afternoon.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia police.
