The man entered the store at 6771 N. Fifth St. shortly after 6 a.m. and walked behind the counter, where he demanded the employee open the cash registers, according to investigators.

He can be seen on video grabbing stacks of cash and loading them into a white shopping bag.

Police said the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen walking north on Fifth Street, then west on Cheltenham Avenue.

He is described as a thin black male in his late teens to early 20s and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and a dark-colored bandanna covering the lower portion of his face, police said.
