Service resumed Wednesday night on the Market-Frankford Line in Center City after earlier emergency repairs at SEPTA's station at Eighth Street forced commuters to use shuttle buses between the 15th Street and Spring Garden Stations.

"Passengers between 5th and 15th Street Stations must board all trains on the eastbound platforms," said SEPTA spokeswoman Heather Redfern in an email shortly after 8:30 p.m.

Some riders had been complaining about long delays and being told wrong information.

Redfern said that debris from the ceiling was found in the track area at the Eighth Street Station.

"Our structural engineers are inspecting the area now. The station will be closed and shuttle busing will be in effect while the inspection takes place and the source of the debris is found," Redfern said.
