Cosby Show co-star Lisa Bonet has spoken up about the sexual assault allegations against her former television father, saying that she "always" sensed a "sinister shadow energy" while working with him.
Bonet, however, denies ever having known of Cosby's misconduct while working with him, telling Net-a-Porter's Porter magazine that "there was no knowledge on my part about his specific actions," aside from her perception of the now-disgraced comedian's energy.
"There was just energy. And that type of sinister, shadow energy cannot be concealed," she said, adding that "if I had anything more to reveal then it would have happened a long time ago" because "the truth will set you free."
Still, though, the recent revelations about Cosby's alleged misconduct, she said, did not change her perception of her time on the show.
"No, it's exactly as I remember it," she said.
Cosby next month will return to court for a retrial in connection with accuser Andrea Constand, who claims the comedian drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2004. Dozens of women in total have accused Cosby of sexual assault and misconduct across several decades.
"I don't need to say, 'I told you so,'" Bonet said of Cosby's trial. "I just leave all that to karma and just and what will be."
