A Burlington County man has been arrested for allegedly shooting another man in Florence Township last year.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said Anthony M. Harris, 31, of Beverly City, is facing aggravated manslaughter and weapons charges in the September shooting death of Ronald Walker.

Walker, 27, was shot to death in an alley during an altercation on the evening of Sept. 21. The Florence resident was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro, where he was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the chest. His death was ruled a homicide.

Harris was taken into custody Tuesday in Falls Township, Bucks County, as part of an initiative targeting those with outstanding warrants, prosecutors said.

He was being held in Bucks County on $500,000 bail on a fugitive from justice warrant. New Jersey prosecutors said they would seek to extradite him to Burlington County.

Walker's slaying was one of nine unsolved homicides for which authorities announced $45,000 in reward money – $5,000 per case – earlier this year, in an effort to encourage witnesses or other informants to come forward. Officials didn't say whether a tip from that effort helped lead to Harris' arrest.
