A 40-year-old Haddonfield woman was sentenced Wednesday to 15 months in federal prison for her role in a health-care fraud scheme that involved the former television color analyst for the Union soccer team, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Julie Andresen, who worked for a pharmaceutical company, previously pleaded guilty in federal court in Newark to conspiracy to commit health-care fraud. Andresen admitted to receiving thousands of dollars in payments from a marketing business in return for obtaining medically unnecessary prescriptions for compounded medications. Her employer, who was not named, lost nearly $957,000 from the scheme.

Peter Pappas, who was employed by the same pharmaceutical company, pleaded guilty in 2016 to similar conduct. Pappas, 45, of Drexel Hill, also worked for the Union on radio and later as part of the team's television crew. On his now-deleted Twitter account, a former goalkeeper for the Philadelphia Kixx of the now defunct National Professional League, described himself as a "Canadian former soccer pro turned Rx slinger."

Pappas is awaiting sentencing.
