Teen charged with attempted murder in Oxford Circle shooting

Muhammed Goode, 18, is accused of shooting a 16-year-old boy in the head during a fight among high school students.

An 18-year-old Northeast Philadelphia man has been charged with attempted murder, weapons offenses, and related charges in a shooting in Oxford Circle that left a 16-year-old boy critically wounded.

Muhammed Goode of the 2200 block of Saint Vincent Street in Castor Gardens is accused of shooting the younger teen in the head during a fight among high school students about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday on the 2100 block of Magee Avenue.

A Second District police officer witnessed the shooting, and the suspect was chased by police and apprehended nearby in the 2200 block of Unruh Avenue, police  said.

Police have not released the name of the victim, who was found unresponsive on the sidewalk and was taken by police to Aria Jefferson Health-Torresdale Campus.

Goode is in custody and faces an Oct. 25 preliminary hearing.
